Street Photography

What is street photography?

Street photography is a type of photography that captures a moment in time. The people in the image are meant to be natural and the whole photo is based around them.

What is the 'decisive' moment?

The decisive moment of a photo is where something is spontaneous and not staged. The moment that the photo is taken something is meant to be an oxymoron.

What does the term 'Juxtaposition' mean? Can you find an example?

The term Juxtaposition means were the contrast of two different things. A person might be tall then a contrast to that would be someone stood next to them thats really small, this makes the image more interesting.

For example: You wouldn't serve a piece of chicken with a slice of cake on the same plate.

What are the ethical considerations for taking street photographs?

You have to make sure you don't offend anyone when taking a photo. For example hou casnt

Before and after photo shop.

Here is my before and after shot that I uploaded onto photoshop. I used the crop tool to make sure all of the backdrop wasn't in sight. I then used the adjustments tool to make the image black and white. I then used the colour balance tool and added more warm red and pink tones to make the image look more warm. I made the brightness of the image a bit darker as it made it look more professional.

3 Point Lighting

The Key light is used as the main source of light for the picture to be taken. An umbrella is used to bounce of the light as it softens it and makes the light particles scatter.

The Fill light is used to defuse the main source of light. It also has an umbrella to be used to soften and make sure there isn't any shadows in the picture.

The lights that are used are strobe lights and are used to bounce of the light particles. The camera and the lights are wireless instinct and when the shutter of the camera is pressed the lights flash for the image to be taken.
